Science has always been an area of interest for Dr. Yap. From a young age, he enjoyed working with his hands. This led to a passion for dentistry, which proved to be a perfect fit and allowed him to refine his strengths.
After achieving his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Universidad de Panama, Dr. Yap went on to complete a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Florida. Opting to pursue additional education and training, he chose to specialize in prosthodontics by enrolling in a three-year Prosthodontics Residency Program at NOVA Southeastern University. As chief resident, he spent much of his time focused on full-mouth rehabilitation, surgical dental implant placement, and cosmetic dentistry. Earning a Prosthodontics Certificate, he went on to publish independent research on dental implants. This information and research allowed him to be a part of the advancement of the “All on Four” protocol.

Dr. Yap enjoys spending much of his time outside and enjoys skiing and remaining physically fit. He is also pleased to have parents who have been married for more than 50 years, and he enjoys spending time with his sister, brother, and four adorable nephews.
