At Island City Dental, we understand you might have some apprehensions about your safety when coming into our office for your routine cleaning and checkup. We understand your concerns. We\u2019re committed to keeping our patients and our team safe. As a result, we\u2019ve implemented new protocols to prevent spreading COVID-19. Here are 4 things you can expect when coming back to our office.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Virtual Waiting\nRoom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Social\ndistancing is key to prevent transmitting coronavirus. Not only do you protect\nyourself from the virus, but others as well. Even if you\u2019re not showing\nsymptoms, you can still pass the virus. As a result, we are making it easy for our\npatients to keep their distance from one another with our virtual waiting room.\nUpon arriving to our office, please remain in your car and call our office to\ncheck-in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Patient Questionnaire<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our\nteam undergoes a daily health check to look for a fever or any symptoms. In\naddition, each patient will also need to fill out a brief questionnaire and\nhave a temperature check before entering our office. Don\u2019t worry, the questions\nare simple and can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Have you had a fever in the last 14-21\ndays?<\/li><li>Are you experiencing shortness of\nbreath or other breathing difficulties?<\/li><li>Do you have a cough? <\/li><li>Do you have any flu-like symptoms?<\/li><li>Have you been in contact with anyone who\ntested positive for COVID-19?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Escort to the\nOperatory<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A\nmember of our team will welcome you to the office; however, we will not be\nshaking hands or giving out hugs to maintain our distance. We will escort you\nback to operatory, which has previously been cleaned and disinfected before\nyour arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Personal Protection\nIn-Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\nknow masks and gloves and masks are important for personal protection. Our team\nwill wear masks and gloves while in the office. We know your safety is equally\nimportant, which is why our patients can wear masks in the building; however,\nwe will ask you to remove your gloves to prevent cross-contamination in the\noffice. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It\u2019s Safe to Visit\nYour Dentist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While\nwe live in uncertain times, it is safe to visit your dentist again.
